my utter demise

Over the years I have accused many things of being my demise, and yet-- I strangely survived them all. However, last night I found something that may very well bring about my end. Facebook. Some of you are nodding, some of you are confused-- Facebook is this strange website where you create a profile and you join up with "friends" from your school- checking our their profiles. You request "friends"-- and trust me-- you want friends. You can also do a name search, a high school or college search, or an interest search. This is so bad. I am offically addicted. I started last night and I already have 94 friends, and counting. I can't stop. I can't seem to pull myself away from the site. I mean- the cool thing is that I found people I grew up that I have long since lost touch with and fun stuff like that, but I think I am beginning to evaluate my self worth based on the number of friends I can accumulate, or the cool groups I fit into. This was a bad decision and I am a silly girl. I will not allow this silly new obsession to interfere with preparations for Beach Reach. I will not! ;-)

Beach Reach is how I am spending my Spring Break. We are leaving Friday for South Padre Island, where I will be a servant for a week. I am to serve free pancakes by the thousands, provide free van rides up and down the island, and hang out with and pray for people. My job is to go and love on people all week- and I can't imagine a more perfect way to spend my time. It is a missions opportunity and we have been training for over a month. I am a team leader-- and my team is absolutely amazing! Please be in prayer for next week, as well as for preparations and safe travel. My team members are Rebecca, Choong-Fai, Brian, and Alix. Pray for them as well. They are such awesome people, and I can't wait to share in this experience with them. Looks like I'll have a new facebook group to start when I get back-- Beach Reach 2005!!! :)
